The report revealed that school principals and teachers in non-government schools found:
- NAPLAN testing impacted adversely on the completion of ‘programmed’ learning anticipated to have been completed
- only half found the tests provided useful diagnostic capacity
- concerns about the administration of the tests including ‘security’
- concerns about the timing of the tests and the timeliness of feedback/results
- most believed there was increased pressure on teachers, students and the whole school community arising from the MySchool website launch
- the positive or negative impact of the website on schools depended significantly on the results
