“The IEUA welcomes the Australian Primary Principals Association, APPA, contribution to the debate on school funding in the lead up tot his year’s review” said Independent Education Union of Australia Federal Secretary Chris Watt.
“The IEUA absolutely supports funding for quality education to meet the national goals for all students irrespective of which sector those students are enrolled in.
“Almost 50% of students attend a non-government school at some stage in their schooling.
“It is high time that the obfuscation and mystical practices of school funding were set aside and the APPA paper provides a sound base for sensible conversation about a new approach to funding.
“The IEUA’s National Symposium on Wednesday (March 17) heard strong arguments about the provision of ‘public education’ by government and faith based schools that were consistent with the principles in the APPA paper” said Chris Watt
