“The Australian Government’s commitment of an additional $200 million to support school students with disabilities is a good first payment but there is another $450 million that could be better spent,” said Independent Education Union Federal Secretary Chris Watt.

“Evidence shows that the teacher performance proposal of the Government just doesn’t work and there is little prospect of any half reasonable appraisal process being put in place in twelve months.”

“Schools and students with additional needs would be much better served by directing the performance pay money into support for students with disabilities ” said Chris Watt.
