The IEUA has welcomed a move by Federal School Education Minister Peter Garrett to commission advice on strategies that could assist school students with disability and special needs.
His statement says the government has listened to concerns and tasked a small group of education authorities, teacher unions and educators to provide advice on immediate priorities and strategies to support school students with disability and special needs.
The IEUA has been lobbying on this issue and recently outlined its concerns in the November issue of IE.
