“The Federal Government’s Positive Partnerships training money has been welcomed by non-government school teachers”, said IEU Federal Secretary Chris Watt.

“The Government has recognized and acted on the significant needs for students with disabilities in schools, and in this case students with autism, by ensuring that school staff are better skilled and supported.”

“It is essential that other elements are supported and it is fantastic that money for early intervention, occupational therapy and psychology have been part of the suite of measures provided to schools and teachers.”

“There is no question that students with disabilities in all Australian schools should have better opportunities and better resourcing, and these federal government initiatives are to be commended.”
