Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard will speak on nation building and the Edmund Rice Centre will present its groundbreaking research into the role non-government schools play in building bridges between diverse cultures in our society.

Speakers from faith and non-faith based backgrounds will come together, including Jesuit Priest Father Frank Brennan, Muslim Principal Osman Karolia of Arkana Primary School, Sydney and NSW Supreme Court Justice Stephen Rothman.

The Symposium is on Wednesday, 17 March at Old Parliament House, Canberra from 9am. Ms Gillard is expected to speak at 9.30am.
