“The IEUA totally dissociates itself from calls today for an independent inquiry into the Building the Education program” said Independent Education Union of Australia Federal Secretary Chris Watt.
“This program has been one of the most successful and significant infrastructure programs in Australia since Federation”
“It is most disappointing that political posturing has been used to cast a shadow over a program that has been incredibly well received and well managed in the non-government schools sector”
“IEUA members in schools across the country have welcomed the monies available under the program and believe that their students will benefit from the improvements that are made in their schools”
“To the extent that there are inefficiencies in the implementation of the scheme in one jurisdiction that surely is a matter for that state bureaucracy.
“The IEUA would welcome the opportunity to work with the Federal Government on any future infrastructure programs” said Chris Watt
