The triennial World Indigenous People’s Conference will this year be held in Melbourne. Running from Saturday 7 to Thursday 11 December, the event is expected to attract more than 4000 participants from at least 18 countries and will focus on Indigenous education.
The World Indigenous Peoples Conference (WIPCE) is a triennial conference of international significance that attracts people from around the globe to celebrate and share diverse cultures, knowledge and traditions.
This year’s event, to be held on the traditional lands of the Kulin Nation, Melbourne, will be a chance for Indigenous people to share and learn from each others’ experiences, promote best practice in Indigenous education, and examine how to shape education into the future to meet their needs.
In conjunction with the Conference the Australian education unions, IEUA, AEU and NTEU, will be co-hosting a pre-conference seminar on the Saturday before the Conference commences for education unionists attending WIPCE.
