Application has been made to FWA following the successful balloting of IEUA Council delegates in relation to changes to IEUA Federal Rules 7(g) and 12(a).

The Rule changes are as follows:

1          Amendment to Rule 7 (g) (ii) and Additional Rule 7 (g) (iv)

“That the existing words in Rule 7 (g) (ii) be deleted and replaced with the following

7 (g) (ii)  The capitation fee in any year shall be as determined by the Federal Council or Federal Executive on an annual basis no later than the end of November in the preceding year.

A proposal for the capitation fee shall require a two-third majority of votes cast in order to be passed. Provided that if no resolution attracts the necessary majority the capitation fee from the previous year shall apply.

Further that a New Rule 7 (g) (iv) be inserted

7 (g) (iv)  Provided that where an “Associated Body” makes a payment of an amount under 7(g) that payment shall constitute payment in full of that amount by the respective Branch

2          Amendment to Rule 12(a) Branches

“That the existing words in Rule 12 (a) be deleted and replaced with the following:

12(a)   There shall be the following Branches of the Union:

A Branch for members employed in Queensland and the Northern Territory, a Branch in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, a Branch in South Australia, a Branch in Western Australia, a Branch for members who are employed as teachers in Tasmanian Independent Schools, a Branch for all other members in Tasmania, a Branch in Victoria
