National Testing Ban – Insult to Professional Integrity

“It is a ridiculous notion that teachers will be required to declare a ‘conflict of interest’ if they are in any way related to a student sitting the national tests in year 3, 5, 7 or 9" said Independent Education Union of Australia Federal Secretary Chris Watt.

“It is unnecessary and just another layer of red tape that will require copying, dissemination, completion, collation and remitting of paperwork” he said.

"Only last year education ministers committed to reducing red tape in schools," said Mr Watt.

"Even high stakes year 12 assessments did not have this level of nonsense."

“The IEUA is calling on all teachers to impose a nationwide ban on the completion of this declaration” said Mr Watt.
