The site provides information about land issues, indigenous culture and reconciliation. It includes student forums for reconciliation and land issues, teaching activities and a teacher forum, games, news updates, facts and stories.
Message Stick - ABC Indigenous Online
The ABC Indigenous gateway is a collaboration between Indigenous departments in Television and Radio and is also included in the Aboriginal Employment and Development Program (AEDP). The site is a guide to up-and-coming programs on Television and what is new on Radio. The site focuses on Indigenous issues, news, music and arts. The Events section provides information on major Indigenous events across the nation. Articles, profiles of Indigenous people, cultures and beliefs, and online forums are available from the Black Telegraph section.
The Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs
The site of the Australian Government Minister responsible for legislation, policy and budgets of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander portfolio presents a wide range of resources and information on government initiatives to improve Aboriginal education, health, employment and housing. Information about other government programs include: Law and Justice, Heritage Protection, Land Rights/Native Title, Separated Children, A Better Future for Indigenous Australians and others. Also available from the site are news and media releases, as well as the full version of Rebutting the Myths - a publication addressing some myths and untruths about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their place in Australian society.
NATSIEW - National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education
Managed by Aboriginal Programs, NSW Department of Education and Training, and hosted by the SA Department of Education, Training and Employment, the site provides a catalogue of Internet resources related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with a special emphasis on education. It offers culturally appropriate interactive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education materials for children, students, teachers and education workers and all those interested in Aboriginal education.
